California Governor Newsom spoke in a press conference today about the State’s theme parks and when places like Disneyland can once again reopen.
According to The OC Register, state officials are “actively” working with Disneyland and other California theme parks on a “very dynamic conversation” about how to reopen. Disneyland, SeaWorld, and Universal Studios Hollywood all say they are ready and waiting to reopen.

We recently speculated how the Disneyland Resort theme parks could reopen under California’s new tiered plan. The parks could reopen in Tier 4, when risk levels in Orange County are at a minimum and indoor operations are allowed at 50% capacity.
Both Josh D’Amaro, Disney Parks, Experiences and Product Chairman, and Jim MacPhee, Walt Disney World Resort Vice President of Operations, have stated that Disneyland is ready to reopen. The theme parks at the Disneyland Resort were originally supposed to reopen in July but were delayed.
Construction has continued around the Resort. We’ve seen updates on Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disneyland and Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure.
As of now, the Downtown Disney District is the only section of the Disneyland Resort that is open. We hope Disneyland is getting closer to having a reopening date and we will continue to update as more information is released.
