International Marvel Studios Ad Potentially Spoils Disney+ Series 2022 Release Schedule

Marvel Studios has been cautiously tip-toeing around the 2022 release schedule for their upcoming Disney+ shows, with the only confirmed release date scheduled for Moon Knight on March 30th. For example, Ms. Marvel was intended for release in 2021 according to Executive VP of Film Production at Marvel Studios Victoria Alonso, but after Alonso’s comment, the series went under significant reshoots and was subsequently delayed until 2022.

Now, we are awaiting news on release dates for nearly a dozen Disney+ and Marvel Studios projects, with at least 4 or 5 of those shows currently projected to release in 2022. Now an advertisement from Marvel Studios Japan suggests we may be getting 4 Marvel shows in the Summer!

The advertisement seems to feature a chronological release schedule for Marvel listed as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, She-Hulk, I am Groot, What If…? Season 2, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Ms. Marvel. Notably, The Marvels which is currently scheduled to release in November 2022 is missing which seems odd if this list is meant to encompass the whole 2022 Marvel Studios release schedule. Take a look at the Japanese poster below:

If we are to make assumptions about the advertisement from Marvel Studios Japan here are several points we can take away from the list:

1.) This would also be the first confirmation that What If…? Season 2 would be released this year.

2.) She-Hulk, I am Groot, What If…? S2, and Ms. Marvel would all join Disney+ this Summer, meaning Marvel fans would get new content weekly throughout the end of Spring and all Summer long!

3.) As predicted, Ms. Marvel will premiere before The Marvels theatrical release date.

As we continue adding new titles to Phase 4 of the MCU, we have plenty of new and exciting projects and details to look forward to. Marvel Studios has yet to confirm the release schedule in the US, so be sure to check back here at Chip and Company for updates and all things Marvel and Disney+!
