Indiana Jones TV Series Eyed for Disney+
The Walt Disney Company is reportedly looking to develop an Indiana Jones TV show for the Disney+ streaming service.
Variety reports that Lucasfilm and Disney are “actively” eyeing a television series set in the world of the globe-trotting explorer for Disney+. The project is in its earliest stages of development, as sources told the outlet that the studio is conducting general meetings with writers as they search for someone to helm the series.

The series could either follow other characters affiliated with Indy or be a prequel to the events of the films—akin to the last time Indiana Jones hit the small screen in the 1992 ABC series The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, which followed a younger version of the archaeological hero. Whatever it becomes, Variety alleges that the Disney+ series is just one aspect of larger plans to keep Indiana Jones afloat in a post-Harrison Ford era.
Further details about the prospective series aren’t yet known, but the Mangold-directed Indiana Jones is due for release on June 30, 2023.
