‘Voyage of the Little Mermaid’ Billboard Removed at Hollywood Studios
Disney’s Hollywood Studios has removed the “Voyage of the Little Mermaid” billboard from the Animation Courtyard Theater, following the show’s permanent closure and in anticipation of a new “The Little Mermaid” show.

The “Voyage of the Little Mermaid” billboard, which had stood since the show’s 1992 debut (replacing “Here Come the Muppets”), was recently removed on March 10, 2025. This followed the show’s permanent closure, announced in December 2023 after its extended absence post-2020 COVID-19 closures. Construction walls appeared in summer 2024, and while the marquee was repaired in late 2024, sparking reuse speculation, it was ultimately removed in late January 2025. The billboard, like many in Central Florida, had deteriorated from sun exposure.
“The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure,” the replacement show, will incorporate puppets, live performers, and digital characters, including a large-scale Ursula. Originally slated for fall 2024, its debut is now set for summer 2025. The show will feature familiar songs from the original animated film, including “Daughters of Triton.”
