How to Train your Dragon Takes Over The Lost Continent in Universal Islands of Adventure cover

Dragons Have Landed in The Lost Continent at Universal Islands of Adventure!

The skies above Berk aren’t the only place where dragons are flying high—The Lost Continent at Universal Islands of Adventure has officially gone full Viking in celebration of the new live-action How to Train Your Dragon film! 🐉⚔️

While Epic Universe is the location Berk calls home in Central Florida, Universal is bringing the dragons to The Lost Continent—and it’s a blazing tribute to all things dragon. From towering props to immersive photo ops and exclusive merch, this mini-celebration is a feast for fans before the real journey begins.

Welcome to Dragon Training

As you cross the bridge from Seuss Landing into The Lost Continent, you’re greeted by a full-sized Stormfly—the bright and spiky Deadly Nadder companion of Astrid—perched dramatically above the entrance. Hanging below her? A hand-carved wooden “How to Train Your Dragon” sign to set the tone.

Once inside, it’s clear Berk has taken over. Lanterns and banners flutter with Viking flair, colorful dragon murals decorate storefronts, and medieval-style signage beckons guests to “Dragon Training.” The Heraldry shop now boasts dragon species stats, crests, and battle gear galore, including nods to the live-action movie which opened on June 13.

Dragon displays throughout the area feature:

  • Species posters styled like trading cards, showing the likes of Toothless, Monstrous Nightmare, and Gronckle
  • Custom heraldic symbols inspired by dragon specialties
  • Themed banners and shields worthy of a Viking clan

Viking Merch, Toothless Moments & Epic Props

Inside the Heraldry shop, the merch game is fire-breathing fierce. You’ll find plushies, helmets, tote bags, shirts, and even a few Epic Universe exclusives. A wall map of Berk and the surrounding islands anchors the decor, with signage styled after the gritty, grounded look of the live-action remake.

A few more highlights:

  • Photo Op with Toothless: A realistic Toothless statue lets you “ride” through the clouds for your next profile pic
  • “Book of Dragons” display: Pages of hand-drawn dragons, symbols, and tailfin designs straight out of Viking legend
  • Replica props from Hiccup & Astrid: Including weapons, shields, and costuming (no, they aren’t screen-used, but they’re stunning recreations)

This overlay is more than a temporary promo—it’s a full-on invitation to explore the world of Berk in a way that connects the films, the upcoming land, and your next park visit. Think of it as a soft launch for your inner dragon trainer.
