Disney’s Hippo, Viviana, is Celebrating 50 Years

Viviana, a beloved hippopotamus at Disney’s Kilimanjaro Safaris, recently turned 50! To mark this milestone, the Animal Nutrition team crafted a unique birthday “cake” featuring a delicious assortment of Viviana’s favorite treats, including succulent watermelon.

Few would guess it, but hippos are incredibly fast on land! And believe it or not, these gentle giants can devour an entire watermelon in a single bite. When she’s not indulging in her favorite treats, Viviana enjoys leisurely dips in her pools and cherishes quality time with her best hippo friends: Tuma, Tequila, and Ramona.

A beloved resident at the park for many years, Viviana has captivated guests with her charm and personality. Her 50th birthday is a testament to her long and cherished presence at the park, reminding us of her enduring importance to the Kilimanjaro Safaris experience.
