Heat Advisory in Effect for Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort on July 4th

Visitors to Central Florida’s popular theme parks, Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort, are advised to take precautions as a heat advisory has been issued for the region on July 4th. The National Weather Service (NWS) anticipates heat index values to reach a sweltering 110°F (43°C).

The advisory, which covers a wide area of Central Florida, was issued early Thursday morning and is in effect from 11 am to 6 pm EDT. While the Fourth of July celebrations are expected to continue as planned, park-goers are urged to stay hydrated, seek shade, and take breaks in air-conditioned areas to avoid heat-related illnesses.

Both Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort are well-equipped to handle hot weather conditions, with numerous water fountains, misting fans, and air-conditioned spaces available throughout their properties. However, with the extreme heat anticipated, extra vigilance is necessary to ensure the safety and comfort of all guests.

The NWS recommends that individuals drink plenty of water, wear lightweight and light-colored clothing, and limit strenuous activities during the hottest parts of the day. Sunscreen and hats are also advised to protect against the sun’s harmful rays.

While the heat may present a challenge, it is not expected to dampen the festive spirit at the theme parks. Both Disney World and Universal Orlando have a variety of Fourth of July celebrations planned, including special shows, parades, and fireworks displays. Guests are encouraged to enjoy the festivities while taking necessary precautions to stay cool and safe.

Visitors are advised to check the official websites and apps of both Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort for the latest updates on park hours, attractions, and any potential adjustments due to the heat advisory.
