The sweetest part of the holiday season at Walt Disney World Resort is almost here!
We are talking about the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House that has been welcoming guest since 1999! Construction of the 14-foot tall house is undergoing its final touches now and will be open to the public on November 13 at 10:30am.
The Gingerbread House is made from 5,089 cookie shingles to be specific, and it takes the bakers at the Grand Floridian more then 2 months to cut and bake every single piece plus more then 160 hours to build the house!
You can check it out everyday from 9:30am to 10pm plus on select Saturdays (November 18, 23 and 30) you can join pastry chef Kristine Farmer from 1pm to 2pm at the main lobby for a signing event with a limited edition trading pin!
The Gingerbread House will be on display at the main lobby where you will also be able to enjoy gingerbread cookie samples as well as the opportunity to buy some sweets treats to take home with gluten free and vegan option available.
Be sure to look for the hidden Mickeys throughout the house! There’s suppose to be one for each year since its debut so this year you should be able to spot 21 hidden Mickeys!
