Kel Mitchell Shares More details on Good Burger 2 Movie in the Works
Nickelodeon’s “Good Burger 2” movie is cooking up, and its star Kel Mitchell says the sequel will have fans of the original film “screaming” when they see the star-studded cast. Mitchell has already confirmed the reunion onscreen with Kenan Thompson; bringing back Ed and Dexter, Good Burger’s iconic fast-food duo, 25 years after their original run.
Mitchell is best known for his work on the Nickelodeon sketch comedy series “All That” and the subsequent series “Kenan & Kel,” in which he starred alongside Kenan Thompson. He began his career as a stand-up comedian and later joined the cast of “All That,” where he quickly gained popularity for his energetic and humorous performances. He also appeared in several films during this time, including “Good Burger” and “Mystery Men.” Mitchell told Pop Sugar that he never tires of delivering the iconic line, “Welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger. Can I take your order?”

Mitchell and Thompson have stayed close over the years and continue to have a relationship behind the scenes. Mitchell said, “We stay in contact a lot. I know, at the Emmys, people felt like we hadn’t seen each other in a while. No, no. We stay in contact all the time. We call each other. We have a group text and all this stuff.”
Good Burger 2 is still in the early stages of production, but that hasn’t tempered Mitchell’s excitement. “We haven’t missed a step. Kenan has not missed a step. It really feels amazing. The jokes are still there. Everyone was just cracking up. We were cracking up with each other, falling out of our chairs.”
Mitchell shared that Good Burger 2 will feature loads of famous cameos, including original “Good Burger” cast members and current Nickelodeon stars. “I can’t tell you who’s coming back but everyone’s going to be super excited and screaming when they see some of the characters that come back,” he says. “Fans of the first one are going to love [‘Good Burger 2’] because the story is similar to the first one but it’s like 100-percent crazier and more fun.”

Good Burger 2 is shaping up to be a wonderful follow-up to the beloved 90s film that should garner tons of excitement from fans of the original.
