A ride on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover gives guests of the Magic Kingdom an aerial view of the new attraction coming soon to Tomorrowland; TRON Lightcycle Run!
Though Disney has confirmed that this ride will not be open in time for the 50th Anniversary Celebration, progress can definitely be seen on the construction of this project. It’s new projected opening date is set for 2022. While the delay is a bit disappointing, it looks like it will be well worth the wait! This attraction will emulate TRON Lightcycle Power Run, which is a semi-enclosed structure that debuted at Shanghai Disneyland when the park opened in 2016.

The impressive structure of this ride will serve as the backdrop to several other rides throughout Tomorrowland. It can be seen as you relax on the PeopleMover or as you cruise by on the Tomorrowland Speedway.
The History of TRON
In 1982, Disney made filmmaking history with TRON, the first production of its kind to mix live-action with computer-generated visuals and backlit animation. Loved by legions around the world, it went on to inspire video games, comic books, an animated series and the 2010 big-screen sequel, TRON: Legacy.
With groundbreaking computer animation and brilliant visual effects, TRON created a legacy that delights fans to this day. In creating this experience for the theme parks, Disney worked to bring the film to life.
