In light of recent days, people are starting to ask for confirmation if Walt Disney World and other businesses will still reopen. The state of Florida reported nearly 9,000 new coronavirus cases on Friday, June 26, 2020. The rise in confirmed case numbers is what led Governor Ron DeSantis to issue a temporary ban on alcohol sales at bars in the state of Florida. However, the Florida Governor insists that the schedule remains the same for the reopening of business plans, which includes Walt Disney World’s theme parks.
Florida Governor DeSantis’ office sent out the following statement:
“We are monitoring all aspects related to COVID-19 in Florida and do not have plans to roll back any approved reopening business plans at this time.”
Meaning, at this time, Walt Disney World’s four theme parks are still set to reopen on the following dates:
Jully 11: Disney’s Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom
July 15: EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Some groups have tried circulating petitions in the past week to delay the reopening of the Disney theme parks. Even though they’re still gathering signatures, the Disney company is still moving forward with their plans. We’ll be sure to provide updates if the news changes, so our fans should stay tuned!
