Many people wonder what there is to do outside of the parks. Well, why not try fishing? Take Me Fishing and Walt Disney World Resort are working together to help families to become one with the outdoors through fishing and boating.
Starting this month, The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation and its Take Me Fishing campaign are sponsoring the activities for a catch-and-release fishing and boating experiences offered to guests at the Walt Disney World Resort.
There will be 3 locations that will offer the “Take Me Fishing” branded guided fishing and boating excursions. Visitors to the Fort Wilderness Resort will have the chance to participate in dockside fishing. At Port Orleans Resort-Riverside you can try cane pole fishing. You can also participate in the “Take Me Fishing Challenge” recently introduced at the Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.
“With the popularity of fishing and boating on the rise with women and children in the U.S., collaborating with the Walt Disney World Resort is helping us get even more families engaged in these sports,” said Frank Peterson, president and CEO of RBFF. “Our collective dedication to conservation and family activity make this relationship ideal to showcasing the magic of fishing and boating.”
Guests who participate in the excursions at the Disney World Resort will be encouraged to continue these memorable experiences at home by visiting TakeMeFishing.org, there you will find info about where to boat and fish in your area. Parents can also find info on safety and the basics of fishing.
Does this sound like something you would enjoy on a non-park day?
