Disney’s Veterans Institute Summit
First Lady Jill Biden will be giving opening remarks at Disney’s Veterans Institute Summit happening this August 19th through the 20th. This event will feature speakers who believe strongly in supporting and assisting veterans and military spouses as they seek out employment and careers outside their military service.
During this 2-day event families of service members, veterans, their caregivers, and survivors are the spotlight of discussion. Jill Biden has been working for over a decade toward developing a better support system for our military families. Jill Biden alongside Michelle Obama created Joining Forces back in 2011. She recently relaunched when she became First Lady in 2021.

Joining Forces was developed to assist with military spouse employment, military child education health, and well-being among other things. This event put emphasis on the value and importance of our veterans and military spouses in the workplace. It hopes to assist in creating better employment opportunities for our military families.
2022 Veterans Summit Speakers
Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products Chairman, Josh D’Amaro will be in attendance. Also speaking will be Dr. Beth Funk, Co-Founder & Executive Director, of A Hero’s Light, a non-profit that is dedicated to ensuring the wellbeing of those who actively serve in our military. Joining this impressive cast will be Rear Admiral Jo-Ann F. Burdian, Assistant Commandment for response policy, U.S. Coast Guard, and Stephanie Ramos Correspondent for ABC News. Gary Sinise known for his humanitarian work will be appearing via a video with a special message for guests.
