‘Father of the Bride‘ Cast Reuniting For Special Event on Netflix Directed by Nancy Meyers. Get ready for a Banks Family (virtual) reunion! Entertainment has had to adapt during the COVID-19 pandemic, with many classic film and popular television series casts coming together again for virtual table reads to help raise money for charities assisting in relief efforts around the world. Next up for such an event is the cast of the Father of the Bride 1991 and 1995 films.

The original cast, plus a few guest stars, will be hosting a virtual table read of Father of the Bride Part 3 (ish), Set to appear for the special event are cast members Steve Martin (George Banks), Diane Keaton (Nina Banks), Kieran Culkin (Matty Banks), Kimberly Williams-Paisley (Annie Banks-MacKenzie), George Newbern (Bryan MacKenzie), Martin Short (Franck Eggelhoffer) and writer and director Nancy Meyers. As for the guests stars, well, Netflix is keeping that one a secret until the big event!

The new special was announced by Netflix with a video homage to both the Father of the Bride films along with the caption, “The Banks family is back for a very special event! Premiering [Friday Sept. 25th] at 3pm PST / 6pm EST on Netflix YouTube and Facebook.”

The initial tease from Netflix this week featured a desktop view of George Banks’ computer as he receives an email reminder for a family video chat scheduled on Sept 25th along with the caption, “something is coming.”

The Father of the Bride Part 3 (ish) special event is set to take place at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT Friday on Netflix’s YouTube and Facebook pages. This rare cast reunion will benefit World Central Kitchen. According to the WCK site, “World Central Kitchen is a not-for-profit non-governmental organization devoted to providing meals in the wake of natural disasters. Founded in 2010 by celebrity chef José Andrés, the organization prepared food in Haiti following its devastating earthquake.”
