The Fast & Furious saga has captivated audiences worldwide for over two decades, becoming Universal Pictures’ most-profitable and longest-running franchise. With a staggering box office revenue of over $7 billion, the films have amassed an ever-expanding and passionate fan base. The franchise’s popularity extends to social media platforms, where it boasts the largest following among any active franchise.
The upcoming Fast & Furious themed roller coaster will be equipped with a state-of-the-art ride system that immerses guests within the dynamic world of Fast & Furious. Drawing on the expertise of Universal Destinations & Experiences, which has revolutionized roller coaster development across its global theme park destinations, this new attraction promises to be an exhilarating and unforgettable experience for visitors.
The Fast & Furious-themed roller coaster will join Universal Studios Hollywood’s already impressive lineup of groundbreaking attractions. Visitors can look forward to exploring the interactive and immersive land, “SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™,” which features the critically-acclaimed “Mario Kart™: Bowser’s Challenge” ride. Fans of the wizarding world can experience the magic of “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™,” including the popular “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey” and “Flight of the Hippogriff™” rides.
Additionally, guests can embark on an adventure in “Jurassic World—The Ride,” join the lovable characters from Illumination’s “The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash” and “Despicable Me Minion Mayhem,” explore Springfield U.S.A., the hometown of “The Simpsons,” and take the signature behind-the-scenes Studio Tour. This tour offers an exclusive glimpse into original film sets, including those from Jordan Peele’s NOPE and the Back to the Future films. Visitors can also experience other thrilling attractions like “Fast & Furious—Supercharged” and “King Kong 360 3D,” inspired by the blockbuster movies.

Guests Now Able to Make Dining Reservations on Universal Orlando Resort App
Over on the East coast, Universal has added a new feature that has expanded the usefulness of the Universal Orlando Resort app: the ability to book dining reservations.
Universal has partnered with NexTable to provide the app based reservations, a “next generation, cloud based, reservation and table management system for the iPad.”
Guests interested in booking a dining reservation using the app will first need to navigate to their restaurant of choice in the app (currently, there is no central option to search for all available dining reservations within a specified day/time).
The ability to book dining reservations via the app is a nice new feature for guests at Universal Orlando Resort, and certainly ups the usability of the app. Note the ability to book a reservation is only available for table service locations, and appears to only be available for locations that take the Universal Dining Plan (reservations for Bubba Gump Shrimp Co, for example, are not currently available via the app).
