Disney Earns 163 Primetime Emmy Nominations

And the nominees are… Disney proudly announced earlier today that it has earned 163 Emmy nominations across its streaming platforms and networks. Disney released the following statement:

Disney Entertainment proudly announces 163 nominations for the 75th Primetime Emmy® Awards across its content brands and studios, including ABC, ABC News Studios, Disney Branded Television, Disney+, Disney Television Studios (20th Television Animation, 20th Television and ABC Signature), FX, FX Productions, Hulu, National Geographic, Onyx Collective, Searchlight Pictures, Searchlight Television and Walt Disney Studios (20th Century Studios, Lucasfilm Ltd. and Marvel Studios). Disney’s streaming platforms have earned a total of 73 nominations with Disney+ and Hulu receiving 40 and 33 nominations, respectively.

The nominees were announced earlier today when Yvette Nicole Brown (Community) and Academy chair Frank Scherma took to the stage to share the 75th Emmy Awards nominees.

Star Wars series Obi Wan, Andor, and the Mandalorian garnered a whopping 22 nominations in total, including an Outstanding Drama Series nomination for Andor and an Outstanding Limited Series for Obi-Wan Kenobi. You can see an extended list of nominations at the Emmy’s Website.

Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series

  • Christina Applegate, Dead to Me
  • Rachel Brosnahan, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
  • Quinta Brunson, Abbott Elementary
  • Natasha Lyonne, Poker Face
  • Jenna Ortega, Wednesday

“Succession” led with 27 Emmy nominations, followed by “The Last of Us” with 24, “The White Lotus” with 23, and “Ted Lasso” with 21. The awards presentation will be hosted on Monday September 18th on Fox at 8PM ET.
