The Disneyland Resort 60th anniversary celebration kicks off on May 22nd with a 24-hour party at both parks. The new World of Color show, “World of Color-Celebrate” will premiere at this party at California Adventure. The Disneyland Resort has announced expanded dining packages for the special event.
Ariel’s Grotto and Wine Country Trattoria will feature special 2-course, prix fixe breakfast menus from 12 a.m. to 1:45 a.m. on May 23, with reserved viewing for a special 3 a.m. showing of “World of Color.”
“World of Color” lunch and dinner packages with reserved viewing for the 9 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. shows on May 22 are available at Carthay Circle Restaurant and Golden Vine Winery and will feature regular menu items.
World of Color is an amazing nighttime water and light show and I expect the new show will be just as great. For dining reservations, visit Disneyland.com/dine or call 714-781-DINE.

The World of Color is a marvelous show. We have enjoyed it many times and highly reccomend the experience to everyone. Note: There is NO SEATING. You do have to stand for quite a long time so be prepared for that.
The meals that are offered by Carthay Circle Restaurant and Trattoria are very good, but they can be pricey. It is not necessary to get a dining package to gain a good place to see the World of Color show, but it helps.
World of Color is also a good alternative to noisy fireworks displays if you or anybody in your party is sensitive to that kind of thing. There is a fair amount of pyrotechnics that occur during the show, so maybe standing towards the back of your assigned section would be a good idea. Fireballs are not as noisy as fireworks, but they are bright and hot and some folks get scared if they are not expecting them!
In my opinion, this is a must see Disney experience. California Adventure has become an excellent park and this is one of the reasons.
