It’s been no real secret that Walt Disney World is hard at work constructing their new gondola system. The Disney Skyliner has been a hot news topic for a while now. Construction all over property has muddied stays while prepping the land for the new cable and bucket system that will allow easier travel for guests.
The Skyliner is progressing rather nicely and will be open to guests Fall of 2019. The gondola system will connect Epcot and Hollywood Studios parks to a few Disney property resorts (Art of Animation, Pop, and Riviera). In addition to spotting cables being hauled in and towers going up…we’ve finally started to catch a glimpse at some of the work put into the Skyliner Hubs.
At Epcot, we were able to get a good view of some of the art that donned the hub which is currently being constructed. The hub has been painted fantastically with herons (egrets). This is especially fitting as Florida (home of Walt Disney World Resort) has a bountiful population of herons that call the state home. Giving certain attractions and shows at Epcot, the nature theme isn’t the least bit off-putting. In fact, it meshes pretty well.
As we are all excited to see the finished product, there is little we can do at this time except wait. Until its opening, however, we are proud to bring you photographic evidence of construction updates until the time being.
