Emilio Estevez to Direct Episodes of 'The Mighty Ducks' Series Coming to Disney+

Emilio Estevez to Direct Episodes of ‘The Mighty Ducks‘ Series Coming to Disney+. The Mighty Ducks star, Emilio Estevez (Coach Gordon Bombay) is reportedly directing a number of episodes for the new Disney+ series. According to MickeyBlog, Estevez will be joining credited directors, Michael Spiller, Jay Karas, James Griffiths as a director for the series.

The reboot is set in present-day Minnesota, where the Mighty Ducks have evolved from scrappy underdogs to an ultra-competitive, powerhouse youth hockey team. After 12-year-old Evan (Brady Noon) is unceremoniously cut from the Ducks, he and his mom Alex (Lauren Graham) set out to build their own ragtag team of misfits to challenge the cutthroat, win-at-all-costs culture of competitive youth sports.

Joining Estevez in the series are Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls) and Brady Noon (Good Boys), with Swayam Bhatia (Succession), Taegen Burns (I Can Only Imagine), Julee Cerda (Passengers), Bella Higginbotham (Troop Zero), Luke Islam (America’s Got Talent), Kiefer O’Reilly (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow), Maxwell Simkins (Bizaardvark) and De’Jon Watts (Black Panther).
