Eddie Murphy is Back in the All-New Trailer for 'Coming 2 America'

Eddie Murphy is Back in the All-New Trailer for ‘Coming 2 America‘. A sequel to the 1988 classic Coming to America has been in the works and finished filming in time for a 2021 release! In an impressive move, Amazon has purchased the new film, named Coming 2 America, for $125 Million from Paramount Pictures. Currently, Coming 2 America is set to premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on March 5, 2021.

Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall have reprised their roles as Prince Akeem and Semmi for the film and will be joined by fellow cast mates: Jermaine Fowler, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, KiKi Layne, Shari Headley, Wesley Snipes, and James Earl Jones. The rest of the cast includes John Amos, Teyana Taylor, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Paul Bates, Nomzamo Mbatha, and Bella Murphy.

“Set after the events of the first film, former Prince Akeem Joffer (Eddie Murphy) is set to become King of Zamunda when he discovers he has a son he never knew about in America – a street savvy Queens native named Lavelle (Jermaine Fowler). Honoring his royal father’s (James Earl Jones) dying wish to groom this son as the crown prince, Akeem and Semmi (Arsenio Hall) set off to America once again.”
