Donald Duck has been replaced by a plant on the Gran Fiesta Tour in the Mexico Pavilion at EPCOT! Yesterday one of the reporters at Chip and Co noticed the #1, Mr Donald Duck is missing in the lovable Gran Fiesta Tour. This attraction is a relaxing boat ride where you meet the Three Callaberos, Panchito, the Mexican charro rooster, and José Carioca, the Brazilian parrot and of course Donald Duck for a concert! However, I think Donald missed this concert but at least his counterpart plant was there for him!
It seems prior to Donald’s plant double took over the role, Donald seemed to be falling over like he’s had a view too many margaritas, maybe he’s been drinking around the world! Check out the video from Twitter user @Caballero_Duck to see Donald in action!

Whilst Donald recovers, he has been replaced quite comically by a plant! You can see Donald’s hat perched on top of the plant. We are laughing with Disney at the ‘uncanny likeness’ between Donald and the plant. It seems fitting with the attraction storyline, which Disney explains:
Donald’s disappeared south of the border, and it’s up to the other 2 cabarellos from the musical trio—Panchito, the Mexican charro rooster, and José Carioca, the Brazilian parrot—to find him.
Cruise down the Rio Grande on a dark boat ride past some of the most famous sights and cities in Mexico. Is that the missing mallard climbing a Mayan pyramid in Chichen Itza?
Hilarity and hijinks ensue as the birds go in hot pursuit of their wayward friend throughout this fun-filled ride for all ages.
However, the birds were unable to save Donald before he toppled but this is not unusual for the animatronics in the ride, as they are known to topple from time to time. Back in Summer 2020, José also toppled over but was returned swiftly! However, unlike Donald José did not receive an understudy to take his place while he recovered! So stay tuned as I’m sure the Three Caballeros will be back in no time!
