‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness‘ Halts Production as UK Goes Back into Lockdown. As the United Kingdom goes back into lockdown due to the spread of a new strain of COVID production studios have stopped filming leaving several big name projects waiting in the wings to resume filming once again when it is safe.
According to Marvel star, Elizabeth Olsen, her current project, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, has halted filming and they are cooperating with lockdown procedures. Olsen shared the news during a segment with Jimmy Kimmel stating, “Since the hospitals are overwhelmed here, we can’t go back to work until that calms down,” Olsen said. “So just safely hanging out here, and really grateful I get to be working. Disney has kept me busy during quarantine.“
The new Marvel Studios film will star Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange) and Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch) with Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams, and Chiwetel Ejiofor set to return in their respective roles for the sequel. The cast is joined by newcomer Xochitl Gomez who will be playing America Chavez in her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut.
