Typhoon Lagoon, one of the water parks at Walt Disney World, has been closed since the pandemic shut down the Walt Disney World Resort. While the rest of the theme parks and Blizzard Beach have reopened, Typhoon Lagoon has remained closed for a refurbishment.
Now, the rumor is Typhoon Lagoon could reopen on January 2, 2022.
In the past, Blizzard Beach has closed in December for its annual refurbishment. When that happens, Typhoon Lagoon reopens so that Disney World can have at least one operating water park. Then Blizzard Beach opens in the spring and both water parks remain open.
Blizzard Beach was originally expected to close on December 26, 2021, for that annual refurbishment but it has now been pushed back to January 1, 2022. That would mean Typhoon Lagoon would reopen on January 2, 2022.
Delays to Typhoon Lagoon’s refurbishment have pushed back its reopening and Blizzard Beach’s closing date.
Disney has yet to make any announcement regarding Typhoon Lagoon reopening. Stay tuned for more information!
