Walt Disney Studios has recently brought on Michael Starrbury to write the script for a new family adventure movie titled “Ed Terrestrial.” Michael Starrbury is a writer and producer, who is known for The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete as well as One Cadillac Drive and Black Jack. Michael Starrbury’s picture above is featured in the 2014 Independent Spirit Awards (www.filmindependent.org) in which he was nominated.
Starrbury’s writing combined with Walt Disney Pictures sounds like a great team for this new family film. The original spec written by Greg Erb and Jason Oremland was purchased by the studios and while not much is known about the story we do know it is a family friendly film about an extra terrestrial. Andrew Adamson, who works on Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away is producing the film.
For now we will have to wait for Disney to share more information with us, but I’m excited to see where the studio goes with this story line. ET Disney style?
