Hold on to your magic carpets! There’s a chance you’ll soon be singing “A Whole New World” in your living room!
There’s discussion that Disney’s Aladdin on Broadway Show may soon be coming to Disney+. Disney’s hit West End musical Aladdin was filmed for worldwide release just before closing in London last year. Even a Disney representative confirmed that the live show has been recorded. So, it’s a matter of time before that footage is made shown to the public.
The live Broadway show opened to critical acclaim at the Prince Edward Theatre on June 15, 2016. It ran there for nearly 3 years. The upcoming live recording will feature Broadway cast member Trevor Dion Nicholas as Genie, joined by various cast members from several productions of Aladdin around the world for this special filming.
Disney’s streaming service has critical success with Hamilton, which means Disney+ will be seeking more Broadway content. The release of “Aladdin: Live From The West End” could be the next big hit for Disney+. We are hoping to hear of a release date soon.
We are excited about the prospect of watching Disney on Broadway’s Aladdin in our homes! Stay tuned for updates when more information becomes available to share.
