Disney/Pixar Brave for Wii Video Game Review

Disney/Pixar have really struck it big with this movie, that’s for sure!  First Brave opens to astronomical figures when it opened, and now they’ve got Brave for the Wii Gaming System ready for you to take on all the challenges that Merida faced during the movie!

In Brave for the Wii, you are Merida, and you are searching for the secrets to transform your Mum from the Queen Bear back to just the Queen!  The game opens with your Mum already transformed into the bear — if you haven’t seen the movie yet, I apologize for revealing that — and you are chasing through the forest as you search for special clues to help you get rid of the Blight caused by Mor’du!

Along the way, you’ll have challenges to overcome, whether they be in the form of wolves and other creatures that would tear you up, or trying to solve puzzles with the help of your brothers — who are also bears, you might remember — as you and they solve which order to proceed to make an action take place.

As you can see in these screenshots, the graphics are good, and I enjoyed playing the game, as did my daughter Sophie!

As with all of these sorts of games, Brave has several options to it.  For starters, you can play it as a one or two person game.  Also, you can select from several different skill levels — easy, medium, hard, and brave levels (Sophie went with easy, while I went with medium.)

Merida has at her disposal both her trusty bow, and also a sword, and part of the challenge is to determine which weapon to use at the proper time.

Brave is rated E10+ using the ESRB rating system

Have you played the game?  What did you think of it?  Please leave comments on the blog post or on our Facebook page!  Thanks!
