Walt Disney World recently added character meet & greets as Disney Genie+ options. Disneyland, however, won’t be adding character meet & greets to its Disney Genie+. If you want to meet your favorite characters, there will be a standby line for everyone. No need to purchase Genie+ to get access to a shorter line.

Beginning Monday, April 18, Disneyland will have traditional character meet & greets once again! According to OCR, “Disneyland does not plan to use the Genie+ or Lightning Lane services at this time for character interactions.”

It’s been almost 2 years since guests have been able to get close to characters at the Disneyland Resort. Characters have returned but have remained distanced as part of Disney’s health and safety measures. Starting next week, guests will be able to hug, high five, and get autographs from characters once again!
