What’s Open, Closed, and Changing at Walt Disney World in June 2025
Summer 2025 is bringing major transformations to Walt Disney World—and June is right in the middle of the magic (and mayhem). From long-awaited openings to emotional farewells, June is a month of big moves across the parks. ❌ Already Closed (Before June)
Several closures happened earlier in 2025—and these areas remain shuttered as of June:
- Magic Kingdom
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad® – Closed for a lengthy refurbishment that will last into 2026. Frontierland just isn’t the same without it!
- EPCOT
- Test Track® – Undergoing a major reimagining presented by General Motors. Set to reopen later in 2025 with a brand-new look and ride system.
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- It’s Tough to be a Bug! – Permanently closed
- TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures – All closed as part of the DinoLand USA phase-out
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano – Permanently closed to make way for new developments
🚧 Closures Happening in June 2025
June 8 – A Final Curtain Call for the Muppets
- MuppetVision 3D*
- PizzeRizzo
These fan-favorite Muppet-themed locations will close after June 7. While MuppetVision 3D* has long been a nostalgic stop, its closure is paving the way for Monsters, Inc. Land, a major expansion coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the future.

June 4 – GEO-82 Lounge Debuts at EPCOT
- Inspired by the iconic Spaceship Earth aesthetic, GEO-82 opens as a futuristic lounge experience offering a calm, cool retreat in the heart of EPCOT. Expect sleek design, themed decor, and possibly some light refreshments. It’s part of EPCOT’s ongoing transformation—and a must-see for fans of sci-fi and chill vibes.
