Andy’s Backyard Expands: Disney World Files Permit for New Toy Story Land Snack Kiosk
A much-needed addition is on its way to Toy Story Land, as Walt Disney Imagineering has officially filed a Notice of Commencement for the installation of a new snack kiosk at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The permit pinpoints the location at 149 Ascot Dr, Lake Buena Vista—an address confirmed by the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District to be for a future Toy Story Snack Kiosk situated near the entrance to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This move signals a continued effort to enhance the guest experience in the popular Toy Story themed land.

Construction Heats Up Near Galaxy’s Edge Entrance
Since the area currently has no such food stand, the permit is clearly for new construction. The document names Mecca Productions as the contractor for the installation of “set elements,” suggesting the kiosk will feature playful, immersive theming that fits seamlessly into Andy’s backyard. The permit is set to expire in one year, hinting at the potential timeline for the project’s completion.
The planned location is particularly noteworthy: it sits near the corner of the restrooms building, directly across from the Alien Swirling Saucers attraction. This is the approximate spot where a large, themed Toy Story Land welcome sign was removed back in July, an area that has been behind construction scrims and walls for months.

Addressing a Longstanding Need for Quick Bites
The addition of a third dining option will be a welcome relief for guests. Since its opening in 2018, Toy Story Land has been served by just two main eateries: the quick-service Woody’s Lunch Box and the newer table-service Roundup Rodeo BBQ, which debuted in 2023.

Despite recent construction to expand and shade the seating at Woody’s Lunch Box, the long lines and limited quick-service options have often been a bottleneck for visitors. The new snack kiosk, positioned strategically on a high-traffic route between Toy Story Land and the bustling Galaxy’s Edge, is expected to significantly help disperse crowds and offer a convenient, grab-and-go option for park-goers.
While Disney has yet to make an official announcement detailing the kiosk’s name or what “toy-riffic” treats it will serve, the active construction and filing of this permit confirm that a new era of snack time is coming soon to Toy Story Land. Fans can anticipate another dose of imaginative storytelling, right down to the smallest detail of the theme park experience.
