Originally launched with the Disney Fantasy in March of 2012, the Disney Wishes spectacular was a beautiful go-to show during your time out at sea while on the Disney Cruise Line. However, Disney has recently announced the closing of the show which will be replaced by Frozen, A Musical Spectacular.
Disney has announced Disney Wishes will be coming to a close following the Disney Fantasy’s August 31, 2019, 7-night Western Caribbean Cruise according to an email shared by Heather J from StorybookDestinations.com.
However, this closing should not come as too much of a surprise as Disney had announced in May that the Frozen, A Musical Spectacular would be expanding to the Disney Fantasy in the fall of 2019. The Frozen, A Musical Spectacular originally debuted on the Disney Wonder in 2017.
The new musical spectacular is scheduled to debut on the Disney Fantasy on October 26th during the October 19, 2019, 8-night Eastern Caribbean Halloween on the High Seas Cruise from Port Canaveral. The Frozen production will be joined by Disney’s Believe and the recently re-imagined version of Aladdin, A Musical Spectacular which will be the three primary productions in the Walt Disney Theatre.
As you can see there is a bit of a gap between sailings. A popular variety of performers, which were not released in our source, will take the Disney Fantasy’s stage in place of Wishes until the debut of the new musical spectacular.
Will you be sailing on the Disney Fantasy during this change? Tell us your thoughts in the comments!
