Disney Wins Several Awards for Attractions and Entertainment This WeekThe Broadway-caliber musical Beauty and the Beast on Disney Dream won the award for Best Theatrical Production. This retelling of the classic Disney film brings the movie to life right on stage with dancing, music and beautiful costuming. The award is certainly well deserved as this show truly is a cut above most cruise ship entertainment.

Disney Wins Several Awards for Attractions and Entertainment This WeekThe award for Most Creative Multimedia Spectacular went to Celebrate! at Tokyo Disneyland. This multimedia water, protection, and pyrotechnics show made its debut on July 10 to celebrate Tokyo Disneylands 35th anniversary. It opened to critical acclaim. The show celebrates some of Tokyo Disneylands most popular attractions as well as beloved Disney films.

The Light Up Slinky Dog toy available in Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios won the award for Best Hard Goods. It’s easy to see why. My toddler fell in love with this little guy while we were there last, and (unlike many souvenirs) has played with him nearly every day since. It’s safe to say Disney Parks has a hit with this simple, but entertaining new toy!

Bob Weis, President of Walt Disney Imagineering, released a statement on behalf of Imagineers, “I’m so proud of the Imagineers who created and brought to life Nemo & Friends SeaRider at Tokyo DisneySea; our Live Entertainment teams that delivered two more award-winning shows – an amazing nighttime spectacular honoring the 35th anniversary of Tokyo Disneyland, and an innovative and powerful theatrical performance of Beauty and the Beast aboard the Disney Dream cruise ship; and the merchandise team who helped bring Slinky Dog to life in an entirely new way as a light-up toy.”

We couldn’t agree with these choices more. Congratulations to the winners!
