Disney Will No Longer Offer Disney's Magical Express In 2022

The service offered a complimentary shuttle service from Orlando International Airport to your resort hotel in Disney’s signature busses. In addition to the retirement of the free bus service, Disney will no longer offer airline resort check-in for guests.

Guests will instead have to gather their own luggage at Orlando International Airport and find alternative methods of transportation either by rental car or rideshare.

  1. I am curious as to where you expected they would make cuts?? The Pandemic has touched EVERY business, especially Disney, with the shutdowns. Cuts had to come from somewhere.

  2. I’m very upset that Disney is taking the Disney magical Express bus away from us Disney Guess. It’s just not fair and the Disney Magical Express bus makes it easier for Guests with children.

  3. How many more people will be out of a job now?! The magic is quickly fading. Disney is no longer appealing to families. I see them losing even more guests. Shame on you Disney!

  4. Disney is an extremely sentimental place to my family. I have been going since I was 5 with my parents and grandparents. Now I’m 33 and I’m bringing my children for almost 10 years. I’m frustrated with a lot of the changes Disney has made recently but discontinuing the magic express service is the worst!!! When you get off the plane and see the DME bus you know your vacation has begun as the video states; my kids’ faces automatically light up! (Not to mention how much stress this takes of mine and my wife’s shoulders by eliminating baggage claim) I know Disney was hit hard during the pandemic, but they really are losing some of their magic. We will most likely be cutting back our yearly visits due to all of this!

  5. I’m very upset. Disney ME is what starts our vacation. The ease of knowing I don’t have to think about anything once we land in MCO is the reason we stay on Disney property. As a mom of a very busy toddler and a husband who has knee problems im often stuck with all the bags and everything else. It was such a relief knowing I could just relax once I got to the airport and not have to worry about any of it is what made Disney so worth it. I really hope they reconsider this action. I will pay more for my trip for them to keep this service. Because I need it for my own sanity.

  6. Horrible. The Magic Express is part of the experience!!!! My kids loved seeing that bus. Not to mention hassle free travel when your traveling with large family. Disney is getting worse. Paying for magic bands, etc. what’s going on. NOT HAPPY

  7. maybe it is time to leave disney….the condo fees are not going down inspire of us not being able to go this past year…and now no magic hours and no mickeys express…where is the advantages

  8. We’ve travelled from Australia three times and after 24 hours of travelling it was so easy to get on the bus to our hotel. It saddens me to think we will still have to ‘travel’ and make our own arrangements now to get to our hotel

  9. There were no bounce back offers, now no ME which made life so easy! You’re better off getting annual passes and renting a car. Free parking with AP and then the freedom to go wherever whenever. Disney is def on the way down but the cost is on its way up always.

  10. The sad part is, there will be 30 or more cars replacing every bus, now adding to not only the congestion and stress on a busy highway, but to the increased greenhouse gas emissions and smog and pollution. Please consider bringing it back even if there is a cost associated with it that is a little cheaper than a cab?

  11. Another unhappy DVC member. Every time I open an email I see loss, loss, loss. They are taking away the magic that made owning DVC special. Maintenance fees go up every year, but we get nothing in return. Ticket prices keep rising.
As seniors in our 70s, ME was a great perk because we didn’t have to drive, carry our bags, etc. Now, I am not sure what we will do. Rent a car, I guess, which adds a huge expense for our 10 day trips, when it just sits in the parking lot. Maybe we will do limo, which we did once before….it worked well. Still have to get your bags to the limo pickup though……

  12. While I think it is sad, I can’t help but wonder if the Brightline train station adding a Disney stop from the airport, along with the airports suffering due to Covid, made this happen.
I never used the busses (I work on property, but as a kid, my family always drove to Disney.) I do understand how helpful it was for Disney to handle the luggage and going straight to your hotel. Although, considering how many people aren’t flying right now, it may be a service that has been umderrequested for sometime. And then adding the cost of tolls and gas…
It’s most likely due to Brightline that they are canceling the bus route. *Hopefully* Disney would validate a train pass for those with hotel reservations, but since they’re charging hotel guests parking, I’m not sure.
I would assume they would have the train get you to Disney Springs, and then have their on property, normal disney transportation busses to get you to your hotel. Those who work the airport route could ask to be transferred to the on property routes.
I imagine it will be faster due to higher speeds and avoiding traffic, and more efficient energy-wise to use a train. And the check in can be done on your phone through the My Disney Experience app or website, which cuts out the need for another person to do it for you.
As a local, I’m hoping for our rail system to really expand throughout FL. We have a big state and it’ll help relieve a lot of highway traffic!

  13. Absolutely ridiculous. Senior Management I’m sure didn’t take a pay cut. Take from the people who pay for everything not Management.
Senior citizens will suffer the most, but a Disney doesn’t care about them.

  14. It is not a very MAGICAL decision by the management at Disney. Maybe they can send all of us members of Disney why this is going to happen. We spend a lot of money each year for the membership fees and also for the parks and food prices. Why Disney are you making this horrific decision to screw over loyal members for their many many years of memberships? SHAME ON YOU DISNEY MANAGEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  15. I am a senior citizen with an adult disabled daughter. I no longer have my mother who used to travel with us. I am scared of it just being us two as I feel vulnerable. But my one consolation was that we would get the help of the airport bag check that would get our things to our hotel, and that as soon as I got off the plane, all we had to do was make it to magical express and we would be in the safe hands of Disney from then on out. Now I don’t know what we will do.

  16. Disney is going down hill. Sorry, we’re Vacation Club Members since 1994. They keep taking away and not giving anything back. My mom has been there 77 times, I’ve been there over 50 and my 27 year old daughter has been there over 40 times. It’s still a magical place but I see the magic is getting tarnished.

  17. I didn’t use ME as we always have our own car on property but the no more airline check in is a big deal for me. Sad.

  18. It is ridiculous, the rate of changes that are occurring at Disney. The experiences are just not the same. The prices are out of this world, the resorts and food are overpriced and the quality of the food in the parks have diminished. The transportation services are no longer reliable. The changes and dismantling of traditional rides is just sad. I have had 20+ visits and want to go back but truly have to weigh the pros and cons of spending that kind of money for what you get in return…

  19. This makes me not even want to buy the DVC we had planned … it makes the whole trip less appealing I hate that airport juggling luggage and a family can not be pleasant … Nope

  20. To Cindy: Well nothing is “FREE”, i’m sure somewhere in your reservation cost the fee for the bus service is included somehow, but I was never charged separately.

  21. absolutely will ruin the whole experience. If they continue to remove and remove and remove services, why would people keep paying these higher than ever prices.

    really is awful!!!!
