Disney Surprised a Very Deserving Principal with a Walt Disney World Vacation
Before he became principal of Queensboro Elementary in Shreveport, LA, Marco French (aka Chancellor French) says the school was “not so welcoming,” as the proper standards had not been set. However, through the power of positivity and guidance, he has created an atmosphere for his students, families and staff that is just the opposite.
Marco describes the school as now being “an atmosphere that is contagious of love, excitement… Music when you first walk in the door, and it instantly puts a smile on your face.” The students and families begin each day being greeted by Chancellor French as they arrive outside. Creating a safe environment is top priority for him and he makes sure each child knows he is present and available throughout their day. He even begins each week with “Motivational Monday,” where he recognizes students who have gone above and beyond to contribute to the well-being of everyone at the school.

Chancellor French is recognized by members of his community for having a positive impact on everyone who has the privilege of meeting him. As Dr. Lamar Gorgee, Superintendent of the Caddo Parish Public Schools, explained, “Marco does far more than ensuring students learn how to read, write and do math.” He goes on to say that he has made an impact on the entire community, and that is what makes him an amazing principal.
Because of all the good he’s done far beyond the walls of his school, Disney Parks surprised Marco with a trip for his entire family to Walt Disney World Resort for the 50th Anniversary Celebration, going on now. He says he plans a trip every year for his family, and he is so grateful that this year that trip will be to Walt Disney World.
