Disney Springs Resort Bus Verification Expected to Become Permanent

A transportation policy that many Walt Disney World fans have debated for years appears to be making a permanent return. According to reports, Disney is expected to resume verification checks for guests boarding resort hotel buses from Disney Springs, with the process likely becoming a standard operating procedure moving forward.

The verification system was previously tested during the Easter holiday period, when Cast Members scanned MagicBands and other credentials at the Disney Springs bus loop. Guests were required to show proof of a Disney Resort hotel stay, a dining reservation, or a recreational activity at a resort before boarding transportation. The test was reportedly designed to address guests using Disney Springs as a free parking alternative before taking resort buses to the theme parks.

If the program returns as expected, guests wishing to board a resort bus from Disney Springs will need one of three qualifying reasons: an active Disney Resort reservation, a confirmed dining reservation at a resort hotel, or a booked recreational experience such as a specialty cruise. Current information suggests the policy will only apply at Disney Springs for now, though Disney is reportedly exploring whether similar verification procedures could eventually expand elsewhere across Walt Disney World transportation.

Disney has not officially announced the change or provided a start date, but sources indicate the verification process could return before the busy Fourth of July holiday period. As always, plans remain subject to change until Disney releases official details.
