In recent weeks, aerial photographs have shown us images of Walt Disney World. Now we are seeing some of the seasonal changes taking place at Epcot. These photographs show that Disney worked on removing flower beds intended for Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival.
Epcot is a beautiful theme park during the Flower and Garden Festival. The 2020 season started on March 4, 2020 and was originally intended to run until June 1, 2020. But the COVID-19 global pandemic and subsequent temporary closure of Disney Parks cut the season short. The festival only ran for 12 days. Epcot was full of delightful flower arrangements, character topiaries, food kiosks, and musical entertainment.
The recent aerial photographs provide a status update for Disney followers. If you look at the Twitter post featured below, you’ll notice how Walt Disney World removed a significant portion of flower beds at Epcot.

It’s unfortunate the 2020 Flower and Garden Festival season was cut short, but it was for good reason. Ensuring the safety of Disney guests by issuing a temporary closure was a necessary protocol to follow during this pandemic. The Walt Disney Company is planning ahead and discussing possible changes regarding the future. Many are hopeful to see the return of Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival in 2021.
