Walt Disney World has posted the first job opportunity related to the new Disney Skyliner aerial gondola system.
Though the Skyliner isn’t slated to open until sometime next year, Disney World is accepting applications for the position of Senior Transportation Engineer. This person will be responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the new Skyliner aerial lift system. The position also requires knowing and being in compliance with all regulatory requirements related to the system. The Senior Transportation Engineer will also act as the team leader for between 40 and 50 mechanics. He or she will also play a big role in technical leadership, working directly on troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and repairs. Communication with the team is vital to this role.

The Disney Skyliner is an all-new aerial gondola system. The Skyliner will serve as a means of transportation between EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation and Pop Century Resorts. Construction began in January of 2018. At this time, Disney plans to have the new gondola system completed and operational possibly as early as late spring 2019.
So even if you’re not the right fit for the Engineering position, you’ll still get to enjoy the Skyliner and get a bird’s-eye view of the parks once it’s open!
