Disney is moving Advanced Dining Reservations Online

Disney is going to be shifting how guests make their Advanced Dining Reservations going forward.

In a blog post yesterday they state that the My Disney Experience app and DisneyWorld.com will become the preferred home for booking and modifying table service dining reservations.

Guests can conveniently manage their table service dining reservations right at their fingertips, whenever they choose, alongside other plans they make with family and friends for their visit.

But rest assured, as always, cast members at the Disney Reservation Center will continue to be available to help with reservations for groups of eight or more, same-day cancelations, in addition to other assistance guests may need, including Disney Resort hotel reservations, special offers, general questions and more.

  1. The websit only works when there is no free dining offers. It crashes every year when these offers occur & the ONLY way to get a reservation is via the phone.

  2. The app definitely has
Some flaws. It is not always quick to use and has glitches. While making our September reservations 6 months ahead I had to restart multiple time and it made duplicate reservations when it told me the reservations was not made the first time. I believe it will frustrate people that
    Miss an important reservation.

  3. In the three years that we have been going to Disney world, I have never been able to make a reservation online or through the ap. Their team has never been able to figure out why. Some bug. I have to call for every single one it’s so obnoxious, but at least I can do it that way. Surely they will still be able to help in those situations?

  4. If it was April 1st I would think this is joke. Been booking reservations for years online or MDE app. Nothing new here.

  5. Never done it any other way. The only time I ever call is when we are with a large party and they can’t do it online.

  6. I feel like every week Disney is making some sort of change or new rule. I am okay with change, but when it is coming at you every week there is no down time to really take it in. You can’t do this, you can’t do that, no more of this, now you have to do it this way, now you have to pay $$, now it will cost more. I wonder what the new rule will be next week.

  7. Disney has had online advanced dining reservations for years, but it doesn’t work well. Many times I have checked on line for various dates and locations without any luck, but a cast member on the phone was able to book a reservation (and showed availability on his/her end). This should still be an option so Disney can still provide guests with a personal touch. Thus, I don’t think converting to solely online add is a good idea.

  8. We’ve been able to manage dining online for a long time. Announcing it like this means a cost-cutting move on their part. More self-service online, less cast members needed. Now it’s not that you CAN, it’s that you HAVE TO. I fear an overall experience decline is on its way, slowly and over time. Many people who don’t know better won’t care. But those who remember what it used to be like will always be sad about it.

  9. Unless I’m missing something… haven’t we been managing our dining reservations through the My Disney Experience app for years??
