Disney Has Not Censored the Recently Added Marvel Series on Disney+

As more mature content has been added to Disney+ in recent weeks, Disney+ has adjusted their parental controls to help concerned subscribers be more in control of the content featured on Disney+ accounts and prevent young viewers from having access to mature content.

Many Marvel fans were holding their breath to see if Disney+ would alter/censor the mature content featured in the recently added Marvel shows such as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, and The Defenders. Now that the shows are streaming via Disney+, we now know there is no need for concern about the content being edited or censored. That being said, if you do have young viewers at home, you may want to add parental controls even if you skipped out on them previously to prevent exposure to the mature-rated content.

From a fan standpoint, it is great to know that the shows have been left alone and kept the integrity of the series stories and characters despite the usual “family-friendly” aspect of Disney+. The Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Chapek has been ushing a new era of streaming, with international markets featuring the Hotstar service of Disney+ (the Hulu equivalent here in the US), which standardly hosts the mature content for the streaming umbrella of the company.

Disney+ has been aiming to raise subscriber numbers and has shared plans to integrate more mature content on the service, with several surveys released to select Disney+ subscribers over the last few years polling to see if mature content would be welcome to the streaming service despite the normally “squeaky clean” image Disney tends to keep with the family-friendly brand.
