Walt Disney World Resort has awarded $3.8 million in Grants, which will help over 85,000 kids in Central Florida.
Disney Grants will help Central Florida organizations make the lives of many children a little more magical. These various organizations help the community in many ways.
“We’re honored to carry on this 42-year commitment to supporting the work of Central Florida’s community organizations,” said George A. Kalogridis, president of Walt Disney World Resort. “Whether their mission is to spark kids’ creativity, nurture family health or enlighten young people with hands-on learning opportunities – today’s Disney Grants recipients share our dedication to children and families.”
Walt Disney World Resort presented the Bob Allen Award to Page 15. Page 15 is an Orlando nonprofit that gives free after-school tutoring and creative writing workshops for local students. They aim to help the kids with communication skills and creativity among many other things.
Disney does not give just money, they also provide community service through their Disney Voluntears program. Disney Vouluntears have provided over 308,000 volunteer hours.
