New and exciting things are always in the works over at Walt Disney World. One of the newest areas, Galaxy’s Edge, has never stopped changing. Since its opening in Hollywood Studios in August of 2019, Galaxy’s Edge has already seen the addition of Rise of the Resistance, besides the promise of a Star Wars Starcruiser, which will be a luxury hotel experience. It is no surprise in such an environment of constant growth that Oga’s Cantina will be getting some work done in the near future.
A permit was filed in Orange County on December 7th for the commencement of improvements to begin on 396 Cypress Drive. This is the address of Oga’s Cantina. The work to be done is described as providing labor, ”material and/or labor for construction.” That could mean anything in a wide range of improvements, so it’s really up to your imagination what will be going on in the Cantina. Could it be expanding? Will they be adding in health and safety measures like plexiglass due to COVID? Is it something boring or completely unrelated to the bar itself? Time will tell.
The contractor is listed as the Buena Vista Construction Company. That is no surprise as that is a Walt Disney construction company. The only other information to glean here is that the permit expires in 2024. We can assume that the work will be completed long before then!
