According to Deadline, Disney is developing a movie based on the attraction Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. As many fans know the Walt Disney World version of the ride closed in 1998 to make way for The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. At Disneyland, it is one of the longest running attractions.
Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride was based on Disney’s adaptation of The Wind in the Willows. Justin Springer, the producer of Tron:Legacy, is on board to produce the film and the studio is currently looking for a writer to pen the script. Disney has had success with adapting Pirates of the Caribbean but there were also some stumbles like the Eddie Murphy Haunted Mansion adaptation. At this point I’m taking a wait and see approach but it would be nice to see Mr. Toad ride again.
