Disney developing sequel to Hocus Pocus

Disney developing sequel to Hocus Pocus

Fans of the 90’s flick Hocus Pocus with Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy can now rejoice. According to Moivehole Disney has began work on a sequel to this 90’s hit.

“Hocus Pocus 2 : Rise of the Elderwitch” (working title) is only in the development stages at the moment but the plan is to have the film in front of audiences sometime next year. I would image around Halloween.

No word if any of the previous cast is scheduled to sign on considering the popularity of many of the members like Sarah Jessica Parker.

Keep an eye on Chip and Co as we get more details we will share them.

What do you think? Were you a fan of the original film? I remember working at the theaters when it came out and it was mildly popular.

Boo!

  1. The witch cast was perfect in this film. I hope that Disney is able to secure them for the sequel. The only thing I did not like about the film was the emphasis on the teen boy being a virgin. It really did diminish the family friendliness of the film. Maybe Disney will decide to applaud or at least ignore a teenager being a virgin in the second film.

  2. I love this film, every Halloween it is a must. I never saw it in theaters but I would always watch it when it was on the Disney Channel. This would be great if at least the original children were able to come back.

  3. The MUST have the same cast back! The first is a classic with my family. I will not watch without the original Salem Witches!!

  4. This is my families all time favorite movie! Wouldnt be the same without same cast members!
