Disney Cruise Line Testing Free iMessage Service

Disney Cruise Line has been testing free iMessage service for passengers on the Disney Fantasy!

Guests using an Apple iOS device are now eligible to utilize iMessage service once aboard the ship. Recently, guests have been receiving a Disney Cruise Navigator App handout upon embarkation check-in.

The handout highlights complementary text messages via iMessage between guests onboard without the use of an internet data plan. This feature will also allow guests to communicate with friends and family back home – also without a required internet package.

Additionally, a new section has been added to the MyReservations page on the Disney Cruise Line Website too. This new section provides essential, itinerary-specific information related to citizenship documentation, what to pack, ship contact information, travel delays and much more.

  1. Very Smart! Cruises are huge and you need to keep tabs on your family im sure all the time.

  2. That’s really awesome! I went on one cruise and lost my boyfriend so many times that I wish I was able to message him! Luckily I could find him at the poker table lol! I hope they do something like this for Android! #DisneyVacayGiveaway

  3. This is great & hopefully it expands to other Disney cruises! I don’t go on cruises (petrified of boats), but I know a lot of people that do. Two of my friends love going on the Disney cruise, but I never get to speak to them until they find signal on land, which could take days, because the cruise ship lacked the capability to text people back home. Or if they did text (out of the country, for example), their bill would skyrocket. The great thing about Apple devices is their ability to text over WiFi. You don’t even need to pay for internet if you have an iPad or iPod or something like that. Allowing passengers to use iMessage other than just to other people on the cruise is a nice complimentary perk they offer passengers. #DisneyVacayGiveaway
