Disney Cruise Line Blog is reporting that Disney Cruise Line has finalized an agreement to conduct multi-day passenger cruise from Port Everglades. This is a 15 year agreement that will allow Disney to sail from Terminal 4 as soon as October 2023 but no later than May 1, 2024.
This new agreement gives Disney exclusive use of Terminal 4 and Berth No. 4. In 2025, a second cruise ship berth and terminal will be assigned to Disney Cruise Line for 3- and 4-night itineraries.
Before any Disney Cruise Line sailings can depart from the Port Everglades terminal, marine infrastructure and terminal improvements will occur. New bollards will be installed and certain existing bollards will be upgraded, as well as installation of new fenders and upgrading of certain existing fenders. The terminal will receive interior and exterior modifications in order to meet Disney Cruise Line’s operating standards and meet Disney’s guest experience standards for a 4,000 passenger vessel.
The final completion date for these upgrades is estimated as November 30, 2023. Estimated cost for the Berth improvements is $2,000,000 and estimated cost for the Terminal upgrade is $12,000,000.
