Disney Confidential – Star Tours 2.0 Rumors

Hey, folks, it’s Anonymouse here! I’ve got some juicy Disneyland gossip for you today.

Everyone, including me, is super excited for the opening of Star Tours: The Adventures Continue at Disneyland. The official opening date has been set for June 3, the same day The Little Mermaid dark ride opens up across the way at California Adventure. Although the official opening date isn’t until June, this Disney gossip queen read on Mouseplanet that there is a possibility of soft openings for the revamped attraction.

According to the post, “reliable sources” have told staffers at Mouseplanet that soft openings could take place around May 20, the same date Star Tours 2.0 opens up at Walt Disney World. The soft opening also continues on May 21, with a possible annual passholder preview scheduled to begin May 22. Again, this is a rumor and these dates have not been confirmed. But it is fun to think about! The scaffolding around the exterior of the attraction has been removed, allowing visitors to see some of the new painting that has been done. There are still some things that need to be done on the outside, but it’s a lot better than seeing the scaffolding and tarps!

While this information has not been confirmed, other Star Tours 2.0 information has — the new destinations. In a post last week, Tom Fitzgerald revealed the final destinations on the Disney Parks Blog. We’re traveling to: Coruscant, Tatooine, Naboo, Kashyyyk, Geonosis, and Hoth! Fitzgerld ended his post by mentioning that there will be more than 50 different story adventures for the ride. Looks like I’ll be riding lots of Star Tours!

That’s all the news I have for you today. Be sure to keep checking Chip and Company to see if I have any other juicy Disney gossip for you!
