Indiana Jones Adventure Temporarily Closes at Disneyland
Thrifications and adventure seeker, take note! Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye at Disneyland Park has officially closed its doors for a scheduled refurbishment starting September 8, 2026.
Disneyland initially added the iconic thrill ride to its closure calendar earlier this summer, setting the official downtime to begin immediately following Labor Day weekend.

Currently, Disneyland’s operational calendar lists Indiana Jones Adventure as unavailable through mid-October (the extent of the public calendar window). Disney has not yet published an exact reopening target, leaving the duration of the work flexible as Imagineers dive into routine maintenance and system updates.
This current downtime follows a steady routine of maintenance for the popular thrill ride. Over the past couple of years, Disney Imagineering has given significant attention to keeping the attraction in top shape:
- Pre-Show Return: The full interactive pre-show returned after a multi-year absence.
- Restored Visual Effects: Key classic effects—including the iconic suspension bridge scene—were restored to full functionality.
- Queue Refreshes: Props and set details in the exit queue received a fresh polish.
While sudden closures can be a bummer for guests visiting during this window, ongoing refurbishments ensure that Mara’s temple remains as thrilling and operational as possible for future thrill-seekers.
