Super Bowl LIV is upon us. This Sunday, 2/2/2020 the matchup is set in Miami between the San Fransisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs. Disney has once again decided they want in on the action too. They have brought back the “I’m going to Disney!” slogan. They are planning to put out all the stops for the player they chose to have come to Disney, literally hours after winning the Super Bowl. It must be a whirlwind for them. For 30 years now Disney has partnered with the NFL to make this Disney celebratory Parade a possibility. It has become part of history at this point and an honor to the chosen player, to carry on this tradition.
Loads of fans come out to Magic Kingdom on Monday for the hyped-up parade. Showcasing their favorite team winning on the biggest platform in sports makes this something to be a part of. There is so much excitement as you see other fans in the masses. All in their gear head to toe they wait for a glimpse of the player, usually the MVP, to make his way down main street. Its fun to see Mickey and friends also all decked out in their football gear. This is a special parade that only happens once a year. Usually, the parade takes place in the afternoon. Be on the lookout, because sometimes Disney will even have a special Superbowl vacation package offer.
I myself have been able to go twice for my beloved 6x Championship team the New England Patriots. Being able to see James White back in 2017 was so much fun! Last year was even more exciting when none other than Quarterback Tom Brady joined MVP, my favorite player, Julian Edelman for the Disney Parade. They also participated in a special television broadcast with ESPN. One of my wishes came true that day, as it did for many fans there that day. It is a memory I will never forget, being able to be part of history, cheering on my favorite team up close, in person at Disney World.
Just like Disney makes magic for these champion athletes, and their fans they also have a special partnership with the Make-A-Wish foundation. It helps children with severe illnesses grant their wishes. In the 40 year partnership, Disney has granted 140,000 wishes! On average they grant 10,000 every year. So many of these NFL players have also helped grant so many wishes for children through the Make-A-Wish program as well. They are all in the business of bringing joy to people’s lives.
