Giraffe-tastic News: Tucker Makes His Debut
The savanna just got a little taller! Meet Tucker, the newest Masai giraffe calf who made his official debut last month. Under the watchful eye (and very tall neck) of his mom Mara, Tucker is learning the ropes—like foraging, socializing with other giraffes, and looking absolutely adorable while doing it. You’ll catch this duo out on Kilimanjaro Safaris, where Mara gives him gentle nudges and guides him through the wide-open plains.
Splish Splash: Otter Pups at Play
Things are getting extra squeal-worthy at the Otter Grotto, where three Asian small-clawed otter pups are making waves. Watching them tumble, swim, and play has become a must-do for guests, and their mom’s gentle guidance adds to the charm of this furry family moment.
Magical Moments at Animal Kingdom Lodge
The baby boom extends beyond the theme park! Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, we’re celebrating the arrival of not one, but two critically endangered addax calves. Juniper recently gave birth to Ginny, and they’re currently bonding behind the scenes before making their big debut. Meanwhile, Violet and her calf Henry are already exploring the Uzima Savanna and meeting the rest of the herd.
Tiger Tales on the Maharajah Jungle Trek
Over in Asia, Sohni the Sumatran tiger is absolutely shining as a second-time mom. Her cub Bakso has been stealing the spotlight (and plenty of guest attention) as he romps around their habitat. From early morning grooming sessions to energetic games of tag, their bond is one of the most heart-melting sights on the Maharajah Jungle Trek.

These precious births aren’t just cute—they’re critical. The addax, Sumatran tiger, and Masai giraffe are all part of the Species Survival Plan (SSP), a collaborative conservation effort through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Every birth is a big step toward protecting these incredible animals for generations to come.
