Disney Cast Members Celebrate the 1 year Anniversary of Avengers Campus

On June 4th, 2021, Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure park officially opened. That means it has been a part of the Disneyland experience for over a year! One year ago, guests were enjoying Web Slingers: A Spiderman Adventure, the Avengers Headquarters, and Pym Test Kitchen for the first time. It’s been a great experience for everyone, but Cast Members, in particular, have relished looking back.

Lead Nelson Medina-Castro shared that this year was “Nothing like I expected, but it was fun.” He said working at the Avengers Campus is “an opportunity to play … and use your imagination.” Lead Amaya Johnson admires the diverse representation in Avengers Campus and that “People are coming from all over the world to experience Avengers Campus.” (Disney)

Lead Joshua Hernandez from Pym Test Kitchen said that Cast Members enjoyed working together as a team from day one. He says his favorite superhero is Spiderman because “he looks out for others … and gives them hope.” (Disney) He says he loves inspiring a new generation of heroes who come to visit the Avengers Campus.

Avengers Campus is an area of California Adventure dedicated to the Marvel Universe. It will also be opening at Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris in July 2022, and Hong Kong Disneyland’s Marvel area is currently being developed. Have you been to the Avengers Campus?
