Epcot fans will be excited to see this next piece honors Maelstrom! Maelstrom was a “high seas adventure” that operated in the Norway pavilion in Epcot from 1988 to 2014 and was replaced by Frozen Ever After.

“Disappear! Disappear!
.
Back! Back! Over the falls!
.
In just a few weeks Festival of the Arts starts at Epcot, I’ll be there and so will four new pieces by yours truly. Here’s a look at one of them…
.
“A High Seas Adventure” based off the Maelstrom ride that was located at the Norway pavilion in Epcot. Opening on July 5th, 1988, Maelstrom was a reversing log flume dark ride that took you through various scenes of Norwegian history and culture. My favorite part was the crazy three-headed troll, so I had to get that on the poster.
.
Sadly Maelstrom closed on October 5th, 2014 to make way for the “Frozen Ever After” ride that is there now, but the puffins that were on the original ride live on at the end of the Frozen ride.”
